Flu season is here. Almost everyone has flu. People are coughing and sneezing in tube, in train and in bus. The cause of flu is mostly rhino virus. How to avoid to get flu? There is a lot of things you can do to avoid this but main thing is to strengthen your immune system.
How to Strengthen the Immune System against Flu?
Step 1: Eat good nutritional food e.g. fresh raw food or slightly cooked veggies like carrots, beets, cabbage, kale, spinach etc. Drinking fresh juices like carrot-orange-ginger-turmeric is great for boosting immune system.
Step 2: Drink lots of fluids like water and coconut water to keep yourself hydrated.
Step 3: Take natural remedies like Oregano Essential Oil (food supplement), Echinacea, Rhodiola rosea, zinc tablets, curcumin tablets. I prefer holistic way to treat flu than taking drugs since I have been without any drugs almost for two years. And without antibiotics and pain killers 4 years!
Here are my top products to strengthen my immune system against flu:
Essential Oregano Oil Origanum vulgare (Candimin) food supplement to strengthen your immune system and treat upper respiratory infections. Carvacrol of this essential oregano oil is as high as 80%. Take 2 drops 2 times a day in water or put in tablespoon of honey. I take this through the year.
Echinasan (Echinasea purpurea) to strengthen your immune system. Take 20 drops 2-5 times a day in water. Probably the most well known holistic remedy for flu.
Rhodiola rosea (Dynaforce) is a adaptogen to give vitality. Take 25 drops 1-3 times a day in water
Zinc / vitamin C tablets (Zinkosan Fresh Mint) for nasty throat itchy. Including also pelargonium extract. This gives instant relief! I carry these always in my handbag just in case.
Probiotics (Colonic Plus) to strengthen your microbiome. Take 1-3 caps a day to empty stomach. Including LA-5 and BB-12 lactic acid bacteria.
Curcumin tablets (Vitacell Kurkuma) to boost your immune system and lower infection. The most effective curcumin extract is Meriva. Only 1% of turmeric spice absorbs in the gut. If you want to maximize the effect I suggest to use curcumin tablets. I take curcumin also through the year, 2 tablets a day with food.
Meriva is the brand name for a form of curcumin that is combined with phosphatidylcholine to improve absorption. The reason for doing this is that curcumin is not naturally well absorbed, butphosphatidylcholine passes through cell membranes like a magnet, by attaching the two curcumin gets a free pass into the bloodstream. That is why it has been shown to be ~30x more bioavailable than Curcumin-95% + piperine. Raw absorption is one thing, but the most important feature of Meriva is that it has a better plasma curcuminoid profile that features demethoxycurcumin which is thought to be more potent in suppressing inflammation.
Step 4: Ginger flu shot or ginger tea. Drinking too much tea keeps you dehydrated.
Step 5: Adequate sleep. For adults adequate sleep is 6-8 hrs a night.
Step 6: Minimize stress. Stress weakens the immune system. Meditation is great for stress relief.
Step 7: Wash your hands frequently.
